How to export from Pakistan without a registered company.

Every guide to exporting from Pakistan ends the same way: register an NTN, get a sales tax number, open a WeBOC profile, find a bank for your AD code. That is true if you plan to export regularly for years. It is not the only way to send a single shipment.

What customs actually requires

Pakistan Customs will not clear a shipment without a registered trader profile behind it. That profile needs an NTN, sales tax registration and a WeBOC or PSW account. Most guides stop there and tell you to go get all three.

What they do not say is that the registration does not have to be in your name. Customs needs a registered profile to file against, not specifically yours. A licensed clearing agent already holds one, and can file your shipment under it.

The seven things people get stuck on

NTN National Tax Number, from FBR. Needed to be a registered taxpayer.
PSW / WeBOC profile Pakistan Single Window trader account. Where a Goods Declaration is filed.
AD code An Authorised Dealer code from your bank, linking foreign payments to your account.
Form-E / EIF The bank form declaring what you are exporting and for how much.
HS classification The tariff code that decides your duty rate. Wrong code, wrong duty.
Goods Declaration The customs filing itself, submitted through WeBOC.
Certificate of Origin Proof of where the goods were made, often required by the buyer’s customs.

The legal alternative

A licensed clearing agent files on your behalf using their own registrations. You still need to be a real business or individual with a legitimate shipment, but you do not need to complete seven separate registrations before your first export.

This is standard practice, not a loophole. Clearing agents exist specifically to handle filing for people who ship occasionally or are shipping for the first time. The cost is a service fee on top of duty and freight, agreed before anything moves.

When you should register properly

If you expect to export regularly, your own NTN and PSW profile will save money over time and let you deal directly with customs. Filing through an agent makes the most sense for a first shipment, an occasional shipment, or while you are still confirming there is a market before committing to registration.

Working out the numbers first

Before any of the paperwork, most people need to know how much space their goods take up and what it will cost to move them. We built two free calculators for that: CBM for sea freight, and chargeable weight for air freight, where airlines bill on whichever is greater.
